The Ice Maiden – Hans Christian Andersen
The Ice Maiden is a haunting short story that was written by Hans Christian Andersen in the 1800s. It is one of his longer stories and it is also one of his darker tales that might not be entirely the best choice for kids.
It is a chilling story that takes place in Switzerland where Rudy lives with his grandfather. As a child, Rudy survives a tragic incident where he looses his mother. As he grows up he becomes a skilled mountain guide and hunter. He falls in love with Babette, the miller’s daughter but their relationship faces many challenges due to differences in class and jealousy.
The story follows Rudy’s journey to prove his love for Babette. Along the way he meets the mysterious Ice Maiden, a supernatural being who was responsible for his mother death. Download The Ice Maiden PDF by clicking the button below to find out what happens!
