The World Of Peter Rabbit & Friends – The Tale Of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle & Jeremy Fisher
The World Of Peter Rabbit and Friends is an animated series that was based on Beatrix Potter’s books. There were 9 episodes altogether. In this episode, The Tale Of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher are combined.
The Tale Of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle Summary (Spoilers Ahead!)
Lucie is a little girl who lives on a farm called Little-Town. She is a little bit careless and keeps losing her handkerchiefs. One day she is upset because she has once again lost one. In her search for her lost handkerchief, she asks many animals if they have seen it. None have so Lucie leaves the farm to look for it.
In her search, she finds a door that leads to the inside of a hill. She knocks on the door and goes inside. There she meets a very small person that introduces herself as Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. Lucie asks if she has seen her handkerchiefs and she tells Lucie that she has. Not only did she find Lucie’s things but she also washed and cleaned them for her!
Lucie is very grateful and the two have tea together. Lucie sees that Mrs. Tiggy-Windkle has hairpins that stick out from under her clothes so she doesn’t want to sit too close to her.
After tea, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle gives Lucie her washed handkerchiefs and the two go back down the hill to go and deliver washed items to different animal clients. After delivering all the clothes and saying goodbye to each other Lucie watches Mrs. Tigg-Winkle go back up the hill. Lucie then all of a sudden realizes that Mrs. Tiggy-winkle is in fact a hedgehog!
The narrator of the story adds a note at the end of the story saying that some people thought that Lucie had fallen asleep and she dreamed of meeting Mrs.Tiggy-Winkle. However, that wouldn’t explain the clean handkerchiefs!
