Thumbelina – Hans Christian Andersen
Thumbelina is a beautiful fairy tale written by the legendary Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. In this wonderful children’s bedtime story, we are introduced to a tiny girl named Thumbelina who was born from a flower and is no bigger than a thumb!
One day Thumbelina is kidnapped by a rather disagreeable toad who wants her to marry his equally disagreeable son. She manages to escape from the toads but, because she doesn’t know where she is, she must try to find her way home.
Throughout her journey to find her happily ever after, Thumbelina meets many different characters and creatures. She learns about courage and resilience and being kind no matter how tough things get. She never gives up despite how tiny she is and she is a great example of how we should navigate our way through life’s ups and downs with kindness and grace!
